This will be the second Sign Up for Enrichments for the 2022-2023 School Year. There will be some classes that are single week sign ups and then some classes that are a series of classes with multiple sessions. If you sign up for a series of classes, please Do NOT sign up for additional classes that overlap. If you do so, the sign up for the individual class will be deleted. There can be no overlap of classes as Arete cannot pay for services that your child does not receive.

You MUST cancel any classes at least one week before the class starts as you are holding a spot another child could take and the instructor is purchasing and preparing materials for your child!

For ALL classes, please check your calendar to see if your kiddo is REALLY available on the days you select. For classes that are canceled by families with less than one week notice, student funds will be charged and a "to go" kit will be waiting for you in the school office. (Instructors have to buy materials in advance). If a class is full and you want to be added to the waiting list, please email Sarah at [email protected]. Thanks!

If your child is out of funds, Arete will delete them from the class sign up and send you the email address of the instructor to make private arrangements for signing up for the class and for private payment. If classes fill up, we will add more sessions of the same classes. Please email [email protected] with waiting list requests.

It's a test

Reminder that we are celebrating Friendship this week! 

NWEA (2-8th Grades) and STAR AR (4-8th grades) testing continues this week.  All students are invited onto campus. If you have not signed up for a slot yet, please do so now. For your child's day of testing, please bring a water bottle, snack, book to read if done early and a charged Chromebook if you have one checked out to you. Choose a Name for Our Mascot, the Dragon

Kids keep asking what our mascot's name is and we are FINALLY going to find out!!!

Student Leadership needs your help picking a name for our school's dragon mascot. Leadership has come up with a few names, but you have the option to make up your own name, as well. You can pick a first name, a last name, or both! Only one entry per student. (Sorry, parents! This is for students only, but you are welcome to ask them their suggestion and then submit the form for them!) The form is due November 30, 2022.

First event of the Arete OC (off campus) Adventure Club will be meeting on Friday, December 2 at Minnie Park in Grass Valley at 1pm. You can get your lessons done in the morning and then come meet for some play time with good friends! All are welcome!!

Every year the State asks us to send out the California School Parent Survey. Arete needs you to complete this online survey to learn more about your opinions about our school. This survey is an opportunity to communicate your perceptions about your child’s school. If you have any questions about this survey, please email me at [email protected].

The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement. This is an anonymous survey. It is designed so that no one can be identified from the data.  You do not have to respond to any questions that you feel could be used to identify you.  Simply skip any such questions. All questions apply to Arete only and the results are for our use only. If you have more than one child at this school, you will only need to complete one survey for this school. Please fill out just one survey about the school using your oldest child as a reference. We use the information from the survey to guide the decisions our school makes and to make a plan for the next school year when we write our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) in the spring. Remember to email Sarah at [email protected] a few days before a kiddos’ birthday if you want to send in treats so I can check for food allergies. Nuts are never allowed, but some individual classes have food allergies that I also monitor closely. Thanks for keeping our students safe. We also strongly encourage healthier treats if possible as some families closely monitor their kiddos’ sugar and food dye intake.

Please remember that we are a NUT FREE school as we have several students with severe nut allergies. Kiddos may enjoy nut free granola bars and spreads on their sandwiches and all the nut free favorites when away from Arete. Thanks!
